Ok so last night my left boob started itching really bad, mostly the nipple. IS that a sign of pregnancy btw? Anyway I had a quick look in the mirror to see if there was a rash or anything and the one that was itching is noticeably bigger than the other! Its not normally, could it just be swollen from me rubbing it. Is it normal for one breast to grow more/faster than the other. I've been pregnant 6 times before and NEVER had this - oh and before certain people tell me I need to use contraception, I have NO children. Mostly miscarriages!!!
Thanks for any useful answers

I'm perfectly capable of practising safe sex... but me and my hubby want to start a family - and what exactly is wrong with that?

Last time I'm editing this because people who dont know me or any of the details must make stupid assumptions.
I have undergone infertility testing due to all the miscarriages, the abortion IS NOT a factor, they know that for certain. If you are anti-aborton thats fine, but trust me when I say that the abortion nearly killed me, I didnt want to do it but had no choice for medical reasons. It was that or deliver still born! Please stop making assumptions for no good reason!
Thank you so much to everyone who has had something nice or helpful to say, I appreciate it

I've also had this problem for about a month now, and I did some research and found this:
the cause of your itchy areolas and nipples can be inappropriate synthetic clothes of wool.
If you used this kind of materials than you should consider to change it because the nipple and areola skin is very sensitive on this kind of irritants.
Irritation between your breast and your thoracic wall is very common condition called intertrigo-one type of contact dermatitis.
This is much more common in women with large breasts and is essentially a form of fungal infection that occurs because of the warm and moist conditions there.
I have to mention that cause of your itchy areolas can be one condition called Paget's disease. This is a special type of breast cancer.
Symptoms of Paget's Disease may vary on an individual basis for each patient but in most cases main symptom is itchy and sore nipple and also very itchy areola.
Only treatment for you is next-when you shower, wash your nipples using only plain water.
Do not use soap, which can be very drying, particularly to sensitive skin.

I had itchy breasts with my first pregnancy...and a little with this pregnancy. But, just so you know, usually one breast is larger than the other (sometimes there are the lucky girls that have the "perfect breasts"). My left breast is about a full cup size larger than the right, and no one notices unless I point them out. I wear sports bras all the time, since buying bras with cups fit wrong.
If you're really concerned about it, I would go see your family doctor about it. It may be a symptom of something else (and since I'm not a doctor I can't even begin to guess what that something else could possibly be). Good luck to you....and I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriages. It took me quite a while to get pregnant with my son, and no time at all to get pregnant with my second. With any luck you'll be able to conceive and carry a baby without any problems!

Ignore the jerks, and actually, while I was pregnant with my son, my nipples and aeroulae itched so bad I was ready to go for the brillo pad! This was however mid way through my first trimester, so I was well aware of my pregnancy. Who knows though? Try a hydrocortisone cream for a day or so, and if that doesn't work, you should probably consult your doctor, if anything just for your sanity's sake! I also used a lanolin based ointment on my nipples and the surrounding area while I was prego, and it definately helped, perhaps only because of the intense "moisturizing" factor. I wish you the best of luck in your attempt to start a family!

Good God what judgemental people here! I have never had an abortion and NEVER would but I certainly cant judge anyone else for that! I'm sorry you have to read all the RUDE responses!!
I am 5 months pregnant and my right breast is swollen because of itching and doctor just looked at it yesterday and told me to put hydro cream on it. So, yes I'd say it can be pregnancy but you should get it checked anyway (try the cream first).
I hope you find out some good "preggo news" and keep us updated!! Good luck to you!!
Lisa
P.S. No one knows the circumstance of "the abortion" so keep your damn opinions to yourself!! I am PRO-LIFE myself but have learned over the years that there CAN BE special circumstances, especially life threatening ones! So keep you damn negative responses to yourself and remember this place tries to HELP people, not judge them!

firstly other users need to learn to read the question correctly. Judgemental pricks.
And then... I am not sure if its a sign of pregnancy but it may be. Due to the growth in the size of your nipples during pregnancy the stretching may itch.
or it could be an allergy of some sort.
I can imagine how annoying it must be.
Good luck with it

You would have a tingling sensation and the areal I think that is how you spell it the colored part around the nipple the outer edge will be darker and from your belly button down to your pubic area there will be like a shaded area darker than your skin.

from what I've heard it's actually more normal for one to be bigger than the other than for them to be exactly equal. i know u will disregard cause I'm a guy, but I'm a boob man and many of the girls I've dated have one bigger than the other without pregnancy even coming into play.

You really need to ask a doctor this question I am not sure that the answers that we could provide would be correct.
Ask your doctor.
