it's not everyday that the clerk says, "no, this one's on us!"

Oh Lordy, let me tell you an actual experience!

I went to visit family in another State, while I was there I had a lady cashier give me a raw deal with not honoring the 25cents sale on many items...

What should have, in my mind, added up to maybe 29.00 dollars total . ended up being 55.00 dollars!.. So I said "Oh I thought these were all priced MUCH lower", as they were wear and tear items in ok condition for summer clothes to play in the mud with ..

Then the cashier had to show her spirit and have the manager come out to rering the items.. 3 times..... as the line behind me grew longer and longer... I guess they were trying to embarrass me with needing to have a lower bill...But with 3 kids, no such thing would cross my mind.

My lovely family member in law that I was visiting made it very clear to everyone in line behind me to watch how they ring items, because there was a 25.00 dollar discrepancy and they shouldn't just TRUST that these people are a GOOD WILL company...

Yes I was a little on the spot, but I was not taken for the cashiers plots of money exchange that she could pocket later with non the wiser.

The items I actually purchased were all "OK".. but not worth the amount they wanted for them, (( glad to have a person with me that would gladly tell others that I wasn't being a butt)) , I just didn't want to get scammed.

when the item you bought canot serve its person...shirt cant be worn b/c of holes, table is broken, radio wont turn on. (examples) but it is your responsibility as the customer to check for little things like that at the good will, they will never say "this ones on us" they are business and businesses live to make money

Sounds as if they've been ripping you off and were feeling a little guilty for it and gave you a freebie to make themselves feel better.
