When you talk about your shortcomings, list things that might not apply to your job. For example, you're a bad cook, you hate to shop etc.

When you list your mistake, follow up right away with how much you learned from your mistake and give some details.

In response to your highest and best use as a human being -- refer to your values. Making the world a better place by making a small and meaningful differences in the lives of the people you come in contact with. Stuff like that.

In regards to why they shouldn't hire you....well that's just a stupid question -- but don't tell them that. Turn that question around and tell them how you could do great things there and what a great fit you would be in the company. Back it up with pertainent ideas too.

Good luck -- I love how you want to learn. That's a good thing to list as one of your attributes.

To me, these are stupid questions, I've been on both sides of the table and would never ask any of these

What are your shortcomings - Hitting the snooze button more than once.... Never ever mention your shortcomings from a career, why give him a reason to not want you?

What is the worst mistake you ever made - My answer would be "after calling a man named "Mert" - my next call was to a man named "Bert" & yet when I spoke to his secretary I asked for "Mert" and she got upset due to Bert having a speech impediment.... again, why show the interviewer a mistake that might apply to you not getting a job, make lite of a mistake, if the interviewer chuckles you know you are set..

What is your highest and best use as a human being <--??? I do whatever I can to help out the company/team - in my opinion, by far this is a stupid question which has nothing to do with the workplace, as it is more of a personal opinion

why should we NOT hire you please help the the next interview. - If you want to sound conceited, go with the 1st answer and if you fail to make the other employees look bad, you look even worst. It's a stupid question, so say "you shouldn't hire me if your company does not like this: and list all of your strong points...

Good luck!

These are personal questions, so I can only answer for me.

1. My shortcomings are my high performance expectations of myself - I expect a lot from myself, and if I can't live up to my own standards (which are pretty high) I can get frustrated. Also, my penmanship is not so hot, but I type well.

2. Worst mistake I ever made (keep this professional, not personal). Calling a client, the record was marked a sole proprietorship, and I asked for the insured - who had been dead several years, but it wasn't marked in the file.

3. My best use as a human being is troubleshooting - I find creative solutions to complex problems. I'm also damn good at contract analysis.

4. Why should you NOT hire me? I'll make the other employees look bad.
