Nope, don't like it a bit. Pretty soon we are going to have to demote Mercury as Venus' errant previous moon that got loose. Some of the discussion was to make our moon a planet, an idea that stunk too. Leave the list alone and add a note that there are other "pieces" beyond that are essentially the planetoid/asteroid stuff that lies between Mars and Jupiter--calling them minor planets. We've known of Lowell's discovery for almost a century, don't change it now.

If they decided pluto is not a planet, then its not? Moreover, in what way does that affect us ? Instead of 9 planets its just going to be 8 planets! That's it. I don't care much about it.

But seriously, if it's not a planet, it's not a planet. Science of any kind should be accurate.
