The male and female shouldn't be housed together at all. Hamsters are solitary and territorial animals and should be kept by themselves (not even in same sex pairs) unless you're prepared to breed them. She's likely pregnant simply because she was in with a male, but chances are that she would be fighting with the male by now anyways.

Make sure to remove the male, as soon as possible. He'll have to be kept by himself, even after the pups are weaned. Do not breed them again for at least a couple months so that the mother has a break. The gestation period for a hamster is about 16-18 days. I would add a piece of dog or cat food to her diet everyday until the pups are almost weaned, as well as a yogurt treat for small animals. This will give her extra calcium and protein to help her have and nurse her pups.

Do not disturb the nest until several days after the babies are born, and only after you've removed the mother from the cage. Rub your hands in the bedding before holding them, too. This should help reduce the chances of cannibalism or rejection of the pups.

Hamsters are solitary animals you have to separate them from each other. Separate the babies from the mother at four weeks of age and separate the males from the females.

Yup she might be. You should take her to the vet and get her checked out. If the male is in the same cage as the female you might want to get him into a separate cage

separate the male and female, because yes the male will eat the new babbies. but keep an eye on the female afer the babbies are born. and make sure you give her plenty of space. if you try to interfear she could get over protective and trample the babbie hamsters. sad but true she might also eat them!
