a true friend will take her since she wouldn't be able to go without you.
being at homecoming is more than just a dance for many girls and guys... it's a status and social event to see others away from just school.
be a good friend and don't make her go alone or with someone not as close to her take her to homecoming.
maybe in the future you can remind her that you went to the homecoming with her and now she needs to reciprocate (pay back) by going with you to ...............

Damn that sounds like the situation I was in back in high school. I didn't like being social but my friend threatened to kick my butt if I didn't go. Man she was mean. Cute too.

Well for your situation you'll have to tell her up front. The worst thing you want to do is say you're going and stand her up. You'll be in a world of hurt.
