Not sure if there is such a thing as a painless tattoo spot. my first one was done on my right calf and it burned more than hurt... My second was on my left shoulder blade... it didn't hurt until he hit the bone. A couple months ago I got another on the back of my neck, it hurt the most cause the guy took forever on it and went real slow, so that was the most painful one I've had yet. When my hubby came home from Iraq for his 2 weeks leave we went and got the new tattoo's... even talked my mom into going, she got a small one on her calf and she was in pain and making faces the whole time. My hubby got one from the top of his arm to his elbow and it only hurt him when it went to his under arm. So, good luck picking a place, I'd say the least painful would be the calf or arm.

Well it won't be pain-free, but stay away from areas with bone close to the surface. There are more nerve endings in places with lots of bone , ex. feet, ankles, anywhere on spine. Also under the arm also HURTS (not your underarm, but the skin under your bicep or on back of arm.

The extra comfortable the exterior the extra it hurts. in case you pick to apply the word injury. in case you have a scar the exterior surrounding the scar seems extra comfortable than everywhere. The shoulder could be least possibly to be injury. To me it basically stung somewhat it did no longer somewhat injury.

in an area where there is a lot of fat will hurt the least. it will be like having more cushion than bony areas like hips and shoulder blades or ankles.
