greens and blues.
Basically, you want to go to the opposite end of the red/orange spectrum (look at the color wheel).
Also, blacks and grays, but avoid browns.

Depends upon their skin's coloring. If there is a yellow tone to it, or it is darker skin, then reds, browns, gold, white, purples, dark greens (without blues), black. Blue can make you look washed out or very yellow, depending on the shade, but you see lots of yellow toned red heads wearing it in magazines anyway. Eye color can also be enhanced by the colors...so a blue eyes will be best with a different color choice than a brown eyes.
Dark dark blue with some turquoises and light baby blues thrown in will look hot especially on a yellow toned but also on blue toned red heads. That is the one thing that is always true no matter the eye color.
If the skin is a blue tone (very pale see through skin, most likely) then I'm not sure.

My daughter has bright red hair.
I always think she looks beautiful in yellow and oranges, not burnt oranges but brighter tones, not that those are my favorite colors, but she looks great in them.
Pinks, not so much.

Any color. I am a natural redhead & I wear any color.
If you are light, water & earth colors.
If you have an olive complexion or deeper, go with more mauves & berries.
