It might be better to wait till your a little older. 18 is very young, and as you experience life, your personality will change. Which is why people who marry young, divorce young. Its your choice. That was my view.

My husband is 9 years older than me, we've been together 11 and a half years, married 8 and a half and have 3 kids. Still happy. though sometimes he does seem a bit of an old woman, and there is a slight generation gap. Mostly I just take the P*** out of him for being older. I was 24 when I married... don't mean to be patronising, but 18 is young to get married, but hell, doesn't mean that every 18 year old who gets married ends up divorced. Just think about it carefully. Perhaps the fact that you're questioning the age difference means that its not quite right in other ways? Be sure!

First off I don't think anyone should get married at 18, 19, 20 or 21. You are still growing and maturing. You wont be the same person a few years from now.

8 years difference for an 18 year old and a 26 year old is a big maturity difference. 18 to 21 year olds want to have fun and be free where a 26 to 29 year old is more settled down into work and other things. It can work but it wont be easy.

It would be wrong if the person is 10. There is nothing wrong with marrying a guy that is 26. You are young and have lots of time in your life. There is no need to rush into marriage at the age of 18. How well do you know this man? How many times has he been married before? Does he have felonies? Has he spent time in prison? How long has he had his current job? What is his family like? Those are important questions that I would ask my children. Ask yourself this. What is the reason you are getting married? Are you moving towards something or running away from something? You want to get married for the right reasons. Good luck with your decision.

PS: My husband is 8 years older than me but we just got married this past summer. I am 43 and he is 50. I know, we are old geezers! :)

i am happily married to a man 18 years older than me. we have been married for 2 1/2 years and have 2 beautiful daughters together. so 8 years would be nothing. age really doesn't matter when you are in love with someone.

Where are you living dear, don't you see the news or read newspaper? If an 80 yr old man can marry a girl of 20 and a 25yr old boy can marry a woman of 40 what more do you want? All is fair in love and war.
