Dress properly before go to him for friendship.lol Then just start to speak where he is from and what was he doing before. Then definitely he will ask about you and it will create a friendship...

Nervousness is nothing but starting trouble.
Go to him, stand before him, tell him that you are interested in him, tell him why do you want to make friendship with him, Why you liked him, wait for his reaction. If it is positive, you are done. If it is negative mind your business by leaving him. Yours is natural attraction to opposite sex.
