Saw it on TV, am visiting in October, was curious about the experience, worthwhile or not, how difficult it is to get outdoor seating for dinner?

Jen,

Mix's food is okay - nothing spectacular. What is spectacular, is the cost. Be ready to spend $30+ per meal, not including drinks which will run about $12 to $15 depending on what you drink.

What makes this place great is the experience. To ensure an outdoor table, you should reserve now. The ride up the elevator is really cool and the service is great. People usually hang out before and after dinner at the lounge. Again, it's very expensive. But if you're with a good crowd of people who don't mind spending money in exchange for a cool experience, then you'll be fine. I've been there a few times, and I've had a great time every time.

I was fortunate to eat there one time. A vendor took us to dinner and a concert and paid the bill! I was not impressed with the food at all. Over-priced and very little food. Foo-foo food. The atmosphere was cool, all white in the restaurant and the lounge (which is next door) is all black. Make sure you check out the bathrooms in the lounge -- way cool! If you're afraid of heights, use the one in the restaurant.

I would definitely call now about outdoor seating. If you go next door to the lounge you can always sit out there if a table is open - seat yourself! Bring a wad of cash, and a jacket it will probably be chilly, especially that many floors up!

Bon Appetit!

There is a great article in the current issue of GQ ripping into Mix, among other Vegas traps. It talks about how celebrity chefs have duped the general public.
