Please don't bother answering if you don't have anything to offer. I like Bob's music no matter his religion but I'm just curious. I know that for most of his life he was a Rastafarian and worshipped His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, but I have seen many places claim that he was part of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, which is a sect of the Rastafarians but with one major theological difference, the denial of the worship of Haile Selassie I. One of the many places I read this is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelve_Tribes_of_Israel_%28Rastafari%29#Twelve_Tribes_of_Israel so I was just curious, to be a part of the TTI one must deny Haile Selassie I as God, but Bob would constantly speak of Haile Selassie as being perfect and God, so therefore how could he have been part of the TTI? I am just curious so please no hate saying things like, "Who cares about his religion." and things of that nature please. Thanks.

He tried very hard to trace his ancestry back to Africa. I don't know if he finally came to a concrete answer as to his blood relationship with the Twelve Tribes. He certainly was related spiritually...

I would love to explain this to you but it will take some time. The long short is this. Haile Selassie is a *decendant of Solomon. thus making him a direct connection to the to the TTI. Now thier is a ton of stuff about the faith on the net but the best place to understand the history and practices of Rastafarians is actually on the Bob Marley website. it expalins the entire theory. This will require one some time and olso a little freedom of thought.

I am a Jamaican but not a Rastafarian, their faith is based on teachings and prophecy. It is fascinating to see the beginning of a religion grow into a prominent faith. check out the origins of the faith and you will clearly see their POV.

Good Luck & God Bless
