I have flown since 9/11, but it took me till 2004. I would still fly if I had to now, but I must admit that the incident involving all those transatlantic airlines that were supposed to be blown up really shook me again. I'm sure that Americans arent the only ones feeling the tension...curious to hear other opinions on this issue...

I did fly way before in the past and was so nervous. Now, after 9-11, can't get me into a plane no matter what. I will take a car, bus, or train but no flying, too scary for me. I live on the East coast and unfortunately one of the hijackers boarded a plane in the state I live in. Made me even more scared to go to an airport.

i'm an aviation technician and i can tell you since 9/11 there have been many advancements in how planes are being handled. first off noone can enter the cockpit anymore, and the door is about 4x thicker than before, also have better locks on them. manufacturers are currently coming up with a computer program for flightpaths so they can not be deviated and if it tries to be deviated from that flightpath the plane will automatically land at the nearest airport. no one should have any fear of flying, you have a better chance of getting hit by a train or getting into a car accident, before another terrorist attack could happen by plane.

No, it only gave me a moment's pause before stepping onto the first plane afterwards. I'm still more nervous about crossing the street, or driving, or even getting struck by lightening. I understand that the world is not a safe place, and it never really was exactly. It's just more obvious to me now. But I refuse to allow my fears to regulate the way I live.

Not at all. I am ok with the security changes. In fact, I am all for "no carry on" on flights less than 4 hours. They shold remove the overhead bins for extra roomy feeling in the plane, and add some entertainment consoles such as video on demand, Internet, etc. That will probably happen.

Terrorists are not going to deter me from traveling. They can go to hell. Islamofascists will be eradicated. Allahu akbar!
