Try looking into Primerica Financial Services. They will give you a free Financail Needs Analysis. They also have services available such as pre-paid legal ($25 a month in most states). Will cover many things, check them out, their services are free. Good luck

There are will kits that claim to be valid in all states. You could go search for that. I hear that they are good for simple estates only, though. If mom has a lot of property, minor children, or complicated instructions, you might want to see a lawyer. Most states have specific laws that govern how the estate will be settled if a person dies without a will. My bet is that your mother-in-law's wishes don't match those laws. Let's say her estate is worth $100,000. Wouldn't it be worth $300 in legal fees to be sure that gets divided according to her wishes instead of what the state says? Call your local state or county bar association for a recommendation for a lawyer. Maybe you'll find someone fresh out of law school who isn't charging $200/hour yet, and is looking for clients. Ask your friends who they used, too.

there is such things a do it your self wills and they are legal and can cost you much less money.
look up yahoo. and punch in self wills and you can find all kinds of them there
