If you are really concerned then go to the hospital Labor and Delivery floor and get checked or call there and speak to a nurse. That is what I do.

Well I think your almost ready to have your baby. Don't get to worked up about it ok. If you pains get allot worse and you discharge with brownish reddish stuff tell your doctor. Your probably going through the early stages of labor. This can happen for like 3 or 4 weeks as your baby turns.

Hard to know with back pains. Usually a sign of labor or could be the baby pressing on your sacrum (lower back) or a urinary tract/kidney infection. Mucous could be normal discharge or a bit of the plug in your cervix. As long as there isn't any blood in it, you should be fine.
If you want to know for certain, call your doc's office again and demand that you be seen.

Call the doctors office back and tell them you want to see the doctor now. Its probably normal, but your doctor needs to tell you that. On the off chance that you broke your water and are in premature labor, time is of the essence. Remember your doctor is someone you hire to take care of your health. He/she works for you, not the other way around. If the office staff gives you the run around ask to speak directly to his nurse, and if you still aren't satisfy then ask to speak directly to the doctor.

Go to the doctor's office and tell them you want to be worked in because you are having incredible pain and a heavy discharge.
You know your body better than anyone else.

If the doc isn't concerned, you shouldn't be.
The back pain is normal late in pregnancy. The mucus can be normal as well. Hormones are a usual cause for mucus.
