here's the problem. I am sure in the board room this sounded edge' enough to generate ratings. But doesn't a producer have a moral obligation ( and forsight) to see what this could do in the long run. It feels as though we are being thrown back 50 yrs.

I know times are different, but the dream was to have people judged by their character, not the color of their skin. I know that this has been a problem on the show in the past, but shouldn't you try and make amends to this by saying people are people, acknowledgeing a difference clearly sends the wrong message to kids sitting in the lunch room all across America!! God Save us from what can come from this.....

I agree. Weird...we have come so far yet when you see this concept you must shake your head in disgust. I was shocked to see the headline today. I consider myself to be a pretty liberal fella but one can't help (imho) believe that such an idea beats the limits of rough common sense by many steps too many. (especially given its relationship to events going on in the rest of the World) Funny in a world where people are getting curcified for making stupid one comment mistakes. (understanble in some cases yet many taken out of context or not fully realized for their underlining truths)

The big question I would like to know is:

"How would individuals in the civil rights movement from back in the last century would feel about such a concept given an understanding of yesterday's reality and todays values?"

In an age where profiling is considered wrong, it is funny how easily we accept racial demarcation on television? The concept of splitting people up based on such criteria as there skin colour difference in skin colour, is disturbing yet not a surpise. Helk, why not get an albino, a quadraplegic, and an invisible man and divide them by a disease that doesn't exist on the planet that is nore more. I miffed about this like you (and merits a response) but I feel society needs to refocus on healthcare, education, and getting Saturday morning cartoons back on tv.

Are we going, culturally speaking, 2 steps forward and 1 step back or the other way around? A suprising question yesterday, yet not so much today.

The reason they are doing this, is because viewers have been asking ever since Amazon (Men vs. Women) why they don't divide the tribes by races. Last season they did age and sex.
Apparently this has been brought up by viewers enough to make it a viable idea.

By dividing the "teams" along racial lines, eventually there will have to be a merger. This will show that in order to win, you will have to work with others. I don't think it will come down to ONLY whites, or ONLY blacks, or whatever in the game.

Well I think that you have to blame the contestants, They are choosing to do this. I mean they could all protest but do you think they care? NO? why because they want money. Its proving the biggest point of all...The only COLOR THAT MATTERS IS GREEN!

I am not really sure what you think the problem is?? A little bit more description instead of ranting might help.

I think the idea is stupid, but if you don't like it then don't watch it
