Going in a couple of weeks with hubby and 3 year-old. Any recommendations? Or even for Malta generally. Not been there since my carefree single days.... :P

hi, nice to hear that someone is coming over to the island that i live. mellieha is a beautiful place, with lovely hotels and beaches. the best beach in mellieha is Ghadira bay (in maltese the gh is silent, so ghadira is pronounced as adira) you can also visit popeye village (also known as sweethaven village) that your 3 year old might like. on other parts of the island, visti the neolitic temples, that are the oldest in the world, if you are interested in history. you can also visit the mediterraneo marine park, and splash and fun park which are in blata bajda. if you are in valletta, visit the grandmaster's palace, the manoel theatre and st john's co cathedral. in sliema, one can also go scuba diving, though i doubt that the 3 year old could go. one can also hire speedboats, paddle boats and other water sport activites in some beaches. while in malta, also take the time to visti the other islands of gozo and comino.
hope that helped.

just come back yesterday from mellieha bay- 4 adults and 7 kids aged between 4 and 14-we had a great time- restaurants i can reccomend are the riviera blue(doesnt look like much from the outside) but the food is good and they will take good care of you-stans bar that serves food and drinks and blue waters who serve the same- we took the kids on a boat trip to the blue lagoon and they loved it-it seemed as if time had stood still in this resort and it was lovely- dont go the beach on sundays its too packed- mail me if u need any more info- good luck -oh and a restaurant to avoid was the big one down at the tunny net- horrid food and service and downright rude staff

Mellieha is a nice beach. Although, I don't like beaches in Malta cause they are not comfortable, and there are only few sandy beaches. Mellieha is very big and nice. I think that at the moment Mellieha is the best beach for you and your kid.
