My 22nd birthday is next week and my husband never remembers my birthday (ever since we've been together and that's been for 5 years) - even last year on my 21st birthday when I was 7 months pregnant and had to work all day, he forgot - should I remind him this year or would that be totally rude? I always buy him a nice gift, flowers, and make a special dinner for him on his birthday and on our anniversary. I'm half tempted to just see if he forgets about it again and if he does then just say screw it and forget his birthday and Christmas and our anniversary too.

No, do not take that course of action. The morning before your birthday, set a cake mix box, a can of frosting, and a box of birthday candles on the kitchen counter where he is sure to notice it. If he misses THAT hint, do not let him have any cake. (Double entendre intented.)

Good luck!

YES! Leave post-it notes everywhere reminding him. Fold over the corners of all the expensive stuff in the catalogues. Write it in the diary/on the calendar. Make a count-down-til-my-birthday wall chart. And send yourself some flowers on the day just to make a point! Then if you've gone over the top enough you can pass it of as a bit of a joke even though you mean it!!! PS.... Happy Birthday!

I know this hurts you but a lot of people don't think of things like that, doesn't mean he doesn't love you as much as you love him,
you will have to decide what you want to do, I was never one to remind anyone, I wouldn't like anything he did if I had to remind him, wouldn't mean a thing to me, you are not me, what you decide will be right for you.
I wish you the best Birthday ever, hope he remembers.

Don't remind him until the day has come. Then you can softly and pleasenty remind him on the day. He won't ever forget it. Happy Birthday! Your going to be 22!

If you think he may forget, why set him up to fail your test? If you drop a hint you are setting him up to succeed . A hint also eliminates possible disappointment and regret. Now really which sounds like the more positive behavior, testing him or helping him in an issue you already suspect he may need help.

Men seem to forget birthday's easily...my dad has known me for 31 years now ...and still till this day forgets...i guess i'd just chalk it up as yep he's a man....maybe tell him something you are going to do on your birthday ...or would like to do..such as going out with your friends or going to lunch/dinner with him even...and see if he comes up with something then...sometimes we just have to accept men as they are....you can't change him

Maybe he is just bad with dates, my wife sometimes reminds me by sending herself a sexy card and not signing it. That gets my attention real quick, she will receive cards and flowers the next day, Good luck.

Yes, definately remind him. Maybe he's not so good with dates. When they forget we read a lot of negative emotions into that. If you remind him, he has no excuse!

It's not rude to remind him as long as you do it polietly. Like say "so and so days until my birthday! i'm so excited". Then you are reminding him but it dosent sound like you are asking for gifts :)
