Lemon rind. Just slice a lemon into thin slices, and put a few down the disposal. Grind it up with the disposal while running water. Will usually take the smell out. Good luck! ;)

A couple of ideas- Cut of a lemon into quarters and toss it one piece at a time down the disposal. Egg shells can scrape built up gunk. And last but not least, put a disposable rag into the disposal and pour a cup of bleach down the drain. The rag will hold some of the product on the blades and kill the gunk that is growing in there and causing the odor. You can do all three, or start in order to see if you're satisfied. (After doing the bleach trick, you'll most likely need to throw the rag away...)
Peace.

Bleach will actually disinfect the garbage disposal, and "kill" the bacteria that is growing there. It will in fact remove the foul smell. Bleach itself doesn't smell entirely pleasant either. What I would recommend is using the bleach to kill the bacteria and disinfet it, then after a day or so, use lemon or oranges in the disposal to create a more desirable aroma.

baking soda. Also put all lemon leftover parts, skin and all down there. One or the combination of both can help, but also make sure that the sink is thoroughly scrubbed as well. I always avoid peutting things down there that have a high garlic content because it's stinky and I make sure to get rid of sponges every 2 weeks or so, hope this helps!

I've used baking soda. If you have a septic tank you might want to put a little yeast down the disposal once every 6 months or so. helps the septic tank. and will keep smells from coming up from the tank.

You can run your diaposal with cut up old oranges or lemons in it. The oils from the rind is the thing that sticks to the inside and keeps it smelling good

Lemon juice, followed by baking soda. Rinse the lemon juice out thoroughly first. Let the baking soda sit there for a while before rinsing it out.
