Here's a chart with average daily highs and lows. http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/vacationplanner/vacationclimatology/monthly/USFL0372 For February the average high is in the mid 70's Farenheit, and the lows average in the low 50's Farenheit. Granted, those are averages, it can get warmer or cooler, although Florida rarely if ever gets below freezing, and that would be overnight. Beware of listening to native Floridians, they'll call 50 degrees freezing. I live in the upper Midwestern US (Wisconsin) and that's very comfortable for me.

Attire in the parks is casual, jeans, shirts, shorts. Wear comfortable shoes for walking, because you will do lots of it!! I generally don't start wearing shorts until it hits closer to 80, so I probably wouldn't bring shorts unless your kids feel warmer, they should be fine with jeans. I would think layering, have them wear a t shirt, and maybe a sweater and/or a lightweight jacket, then they can take off or add layers as the weather temperature dictates. I don't usually swim that time of year, the water's too chilly for me, but being from Northern Ireland, it may be fine to you!! :-) Have a fun trip!

Also wanted to edit the answer from the person who told you about President's Day Weekend. President's Day in the US is the 3rd Monday of February. You'll be there a week in advance, so you should be fine with park crowds, there should be minimal waits, etc.

To a Floridian, February is usually quite cold, although it may be comfortable to you. If I were to go, I would wear capri pants (or long pants), a t-shirt, and sneakers, and I would bring a sweat shirt or jacket. Capri's would cover your legs without being pants (in case it was a warm day), and a t-shirt would be warmer than the tank-top I'd wear during the summer. Sneakers would feet your feet warm, and wouldn't fall off on roller coasters. The sweat shirt should keep you relatively comfortable, providing it's not windy. Also, you might want to bring a change of clothes and put them in a locker. It you get wet on water rides (Splash Mountain/Dudley Do-Right/Popeye/etc) and it's chilly, you'll appreciate it.

Check the weather before you go. Florida has strange weather. Some days it may be 40 degrees (F) out, while others it might be a pleasant 75 or 80 (F). Dress so that you will be comfortable either way.

I agree with the first answer on the clothing. The only thing to consider when traveling in February is that most of our schools close for President's Day week and so the parks are extremely crowded. (we went once this week and found the wait times extremely frustrating -- 3+ hours to ride dumbo, etc.) This year presidents day falls on Feb. 12. A trip earlier would be better.

If you are used to a colder climate, then shorts would be fine, you might want a light jacket for the evenings. I live in New England (northern US) and I could go swimming in January (in Florida). Now if you live in a warmer climate, you would probably be chilly.

For Floridians this is the coldest time of the year. The wind can often be very brisk and cutting.
