Why Is my Tiger Oscar fish tank cloudy? How much feeder fish should I feed them, they just keep on eating.

You are probably feeding too many/too large feeder fish. The leftover bits are breaking down in your tank and causing a bloom of bacteria that will breakdown the excess toxins in your tank. Give it a week of feeding your fish half of what you have been and your tank will stabilize.

You don't give enough information to really tell you what is wrong. Tank size, # of fish, water temp, how long it has been set up, frequency of water changes and pH, ammonia, nitrate and nitrite readings.

It could be too many fish in a too small tank. Too much food, especially feeder fish, will cloud the tank.

You should really switch them over to dry oscar pellets, feeder fish will eventually bring in some parasites and/or disease that will kill your oscars. Mine ate dry pellet dog food for years, 40-45% protein.

How often do you do water changes, BTW? It should be weekly 25-30%. If it is a small tank, more frequently. Never change 100%!

How big is the tank? Has it already gone through it's initial cycle?

Cloudy water is usually an indication of a bacteria bloom. Typically this happens when you change a filter, or add way too much food.

Just do a water change or if the parameters are not badly off - just let it ride for the next 7 days. If it's still cloudy by then - do a regular water change.

Probably improper filtration or overcrowded tank. You should vary their diet, dont limit it to just feeders.
