how about moving away from the computer and meet people face to face. They probably don't lie as much when you look people in the eyes.

1. Be honest yourself.
2. Take time to get to know him.
3. Don't expect to be able to assess his honesty on-line. Meet in person, in some public place.
Remember that this "arms-length" communication which is the Internet makes it easy for people to be not just liars, but misrepresented and misunderstood even when trying to be honest. For example, an avatar may not say what a person looks like because that is not its purpose. A photograph only does that so well; but an avatar is constructed from limited options.
A person who attempts to discuss things of some subtlety on the Internet is up against some formidable barriers. For one, there are no nuances such as gesture, tone of voice, the look in the eyes, etc. For another, we do not know how much of our communication is distorted by not being well educated, or not writing in one's native language. Even among native speakers, English is an amazingly complex and subtle language, with many local and cultural variations. For example, do I write this paragraph the way I do because I have been taught well by good teachers, or because I am largely self-taught with aspirations to be a professional writer someday? Do I avoid most slang and abbreviations because I love good English, or because I hate the masses and common folk, and consider myself above them? Am I a snob or a well-educated proletariat?
Even honest people can misunderstand one another. Give it all time, lots of time.

You will find him just as easy as finding a girl who doesn't lie...they are just as bad!
Last girl I dated, everthing about her was a fraud (the fact that she was supposedly dying of cancer, etc)...and the girl before, found out she was still married with kids I didn't know about (in another state). If I am smart next time...will do background checks on potential dates. Hey, if they have nothing to hide shouldn't matter...as I would do the same in return.
Finally, people lie as much online as in person...the whole "meeting people face to face" will not fix that.
Liars lurk in the halls of Wal-Mart and are at the table next to you in Starbucks.

There are guys out there, first thing though is you have to be honest as well. I don't lie if the girl I am talking to does not lie. If fact sometimes I am too open.

If your looking for a guy that doesnt lie...please dont look on the internet!!! Go out, have fun, and find one there! Its easier to tell when someone is lying when you have them up close in personal. Good luck!

On the net? Ask for his home phone number (not work or cell phone), and call his house at dinner to see if the wife or kids answer. If he won't give it to you.... Well, you know why...

Most pepople seem to lie (ie, appearance, job, ethniticity...etc.) about who they are online...it's really wierd. i agree with you, it's really annoying! I don't take anyone seriously(online anyway) anymore. I view it as something fun and don't read too much into it...

Just say him some lies where he knows you are lying. If he appraises you don't believe on him. If he says that you are lying straight to your face, then you start believing him. This is just to start with practice.
