"Escort services": yes, that usually means prostitution!
No, prostitution is not legal in France (but it is legal in Germany, the Netherlands, England...).
Prostitution per se is NOT legal in the USA (except in a few places). But I have to say that it should be made legal. At least, girls will be more protected. I don't think it would attract more people, anyway.

Escorts are not prostitutes, and the fact that America allows the service to be advertised in the yellow pages shows that we truly are civilized. A less civilized community would throw stones at the women while they are to a stake or even burn them alive.
You need to look up the work civilized in the dictionary and then read up on Social Studies and History of Civilizations.

You know what America does as it pleases but any other country try to do the same and America jumps down their throats, but they think they are a law unto themselves, but none the less here in South Africa they also advertise in the YELLOW Pages but under the heading of Escort Agencies. Some ladies only know how to do that type of work, they are not qualified to do anything else, and they have to earn an honest living, so don't be too harsh on them, they know nothing else.

Prostitution is the oldest business in existance. It is legal in a city in Nevada. To define a culture as civilized you have to look at the entire picture, not just a single aspect of society. The US has a puritan view of sexuality, go overseas and sex is celebrated in a completely different way.

it isnt just nevada, and what makes you think female escort service is prostitution. besides that do you live in heaven or what. only place i know of thats sin free. thailand china japan korea germany france i keep naming countries that have prostitution. now why dont you be a good little boy and ask something worth answering .

Escort by definition does not necessarily mean sleeping with client for money. It depends on the agency and the girls. I 've heard of girls doing it as a job on the side without having sex with clients. Don't be too quick to judge.
