What kind of oil? I can tell you how to remove it, but I need to know if it's some kind of edible oil (like cooking oil or butter) or some kind of inorganic oil (like motor oil).

I use a liquid dish soap (i.e. Dawn or Palmolive) on most of the oil stains I get. It works great if treated as soon as possible, and I've even used it on oil stains that have come through the wash & dryer with luck.

It might not be possible as silk is such a delicate fabric. I use Simple Green for grease and oil stains with the laundry. It is a degreaser/cleaner sometimes found in the automotive section.

my mom always use lighter fluid to get oil stain out of my dads clothes cause he was a mechanic....squirt a little on , rub it in a little and then wash it in the washing machine or hand wash since its silk. I promise the fluid will not damage the silk.

By far the BEST product for removing oil is LESTOIL.Not all stores sell it but I buy mine @ Publix (Fla.-USA).I had spilled veggie oil on my slick tile kitchen floor and NOTHING remove ALL the oil bu LESTOIL! See if you can find someone who sells it.It also works as a daily cleaniner (once diluted)

You could try Dawn Direct Foam. Its a grease cutter and I've found it to be useful for many problems, including removing wax from candleholders.
