Clinton beat Geo HW Bush because Perot split the Republican ticket. Geo W Bush beat Gore because Nader split the Democrat ticket. If we're gonna have 3rd party candidates, shouldn't we also have run-offs (if not candidate gets more than 50% of the votes)? Also... is it time to do away with the electoral college???

We need to have a system where third party and independents have a chance. The two party system has degenerated into a situation of choice between the lesser of evils. Elections are decided based on some trivial but emotional issue such as abortion or prayer in school. When did the American people decide they wanted a war in Iraq? If this is truly a democracy than the operative word should be choice.

first of all, we need to remove control of the voting machines from one of the candidate's family members.
secondly, yes, the electoral college is a joke.
