A large number of companies are using IPv6 internally now - it's caught on particularly well in Japan and the rest of the Pacific Rim, with fair amount of deployment in Europe as well. The US seems to be the major lagger here - mostly because we're behind on the whole "network capable phone" thing - the need for IP addresses for the phones is one of the big driving forces in the rest of the world.

I think IPv6 is still in research level. No one has started using it actually.

I thought that it was only used for the radio frequency to communicate with the Klingon's communications channel.
