Some of the emails I receive, contain the required images embeded inside them. the problem is when I try to "Save As..." them in my Yahoo email, I get the file name of "showletter" for all of them. if I use Outlook, the situations is even worse; The picutre can only be saved in BMP format. How can I solve this problem?
Also I want to know how those emails are created and is it possible for them to be created in a way that this problem does not occur?

Right click on the picture and always click save picture as... and save it. By this way you can save the embedded files one by one to your system.
Another option is to copy the image and paste it to the location you want.
For outlook you can save the image as .bmp or any other extension and then open it. After that save file type as..... and from the dialog box get the desired extension like jpeg, gif, etc as your convenience.
Always attach the files which are not corrupt or not fully downloaded, then this problem will not occur.

You can also copy and paste it into something like Paintbrush and save it as a file. or Another graphices program that allows you to save jpg format

Yes, hotmail is the same! Forward to another account like Gmail or AOL and then save as JPEG file.

Right click on the picture and copy. Go to a folder where you want it and right click again then paste.
