While most couples go into a marriage thinking it will be forever, i find that people are getting married now not knowing the other person completely
Factors that change a person can also affect a marriage.
Having children requires different priorities, and less time to spend on the relationship
Some hobbies require time away that they never would have considered before
Just the simple act of living life can make a person change to better himself, which may seem as pulilng away from their partner sometimes
All in all, i believe it's not a question of whether they were good for each other at the time, but a question on whether they are able to grow together
It is when people grow apart that the divorce papers get signed

Too many people go into marriage thinking that if it doesn't work out they can just get a divorce. A lot of people don't realize the holiness of a marital bond. Also, marriage isn't just for christians, marriage is also for the unGodly and unsaved. What bond would they have for the "Holy Bonds of Matrimony"? Then there are people who got married too young and now need to find themselves. There are many different reasons as to why this could take place. Are you having to go through a divorce or are you just judging someone else because you don't have your own things to worry about?

I think its because people change. I have been in a couple very long relationships and the circumstances change, for example you may decide to have children, they may have money problems or even health issues, unexpected things do happen. People don't marry to divorce i think couples just find it easier these days to divorce than to work out their marital problems. Its an easy way out for some!

Sometimes people change, or maybe you rushed into the marriage before you really got to know the person as well as you should. They could have been hiding a secret from you or maybe they cheated on you because they are not as trustworthy as they let on.
People make bad decisions sometimes and marry the wrong person because of situations they may or may not be able to control.
If you aren't happy in a marriage though it really isn't worth your misery just to avoid being a statistic. Its a completely different story if children are involved though...sometimes it IS worth it...

I have been with my hubby 23 yrs and married to him for 20 yrs. I am 38 he is 41. It takes 2 to make or break a relationship. We never go to bed angry and we talk about our problems when the rise rather than bottling it up we explode. I can't see the reasoning except these people were not ready to get married in the first place.

Because sometimes one spouse or the other, or both, does not take seriously the responsibilities of marriage, and proves unwilling to change. Or, the irresponsible one does decide to change, but the offended party is unable to accept and forgive because too much damage has already been done.

People can grow up at different paces or take different paths over time. Depending on your age, you may find your love was based on infatuation and not love. The turning point in my 10 year marriage was when I found out my wife was banging my best friend... kinda spoiled the fairy tale of wanting to be together forever.

Sometimes marriage changes people and it doesnt always stay as rosey as you think it would. General falling out doesnt justify divorce, however drinking, violence, manipulation (and numerous other things) etc does! These are not always apparent (and sometimes dont even exist) before the wedding. I wouldn't stay married to an abusive drunk would you?

That would be because to two individuals didn't get to know each other well enough before they got married. They found out that they can't live withe each other so they are getting a divorce.

thats why people shouldn't get married, just live together. you choose to sign the papers because people change and some just don't want to put up with the controling, nagging, answer to anyone anymore. the arguing over stupid stuff.single you get to do whatever you want and only have to answer to yourself. get to spend your money on what you want and not have anyone else spending it.
