I heard that you can freeze it and hit it with a hammer.

You can try turning the pocket inside out and apllying ice to the gum. Get it really cold and you might be able to get most of it off. The remaining gum can be removed using a product named "Goop" that is sold in many big-box type hardware stores (Lowes, Home Depot...) It should disolve the remainder without damaging the fabric. Wear gloves though.

Try putting the item in the freezer. Once the gum is hard you can just break it off.

Put the clothing in the freezer for a few hours. It should "chip" off once it is hard. The ground in pieces will crack and crumble off as well. I hope this helps.

Iron on it but not directly on the part that has the gum....you put a towel over that part and THEN iron on it...always works for me.Comes off right away..

I agree with the ice. Goo gone does work for about anything though.

Go to Wal-Mart or your regular store and buy "GOO GONE"
I think they even sell it at harware stores. It really works and it cleans up lipstick and blood and all other kinds of messes.
