At the moment Henry and Shevchenko are more prolific goals corer's. Rooney is not only a goalscorer but also works hard and put defender's under immense pressure. He does plenty stuff off the ball and that's why he get's upset and loses his temper when things do not go his way. He puts 110 % in every game he plays. I wish he played for LFC but when he was younger and came on trial he wore his Everton kit.
If only he did not do that.

No Rooney is not the most prolific goalscorer in the prem. He's a great player no doubt about it but his goal scoring record doesn't support a "prolific goalscorer" moniker. Rooney does much more and has much more to his game than just scoring. I prefer Rooney to playes like Ruud VanNistelrooy who only score goals and go missing for the other 89 minutes they are playing. Rooney works the whole pitch and fights for every ball. He can turn a game.
Henry is probably the best goal scorer in the league.

Based on last years result Henry would be the most prolific striker. Rooney is good but more of target man than an out and out striker.
Can't see Man U winning the league though, think Chelsea will probably do it again.

NO WAY
NO CHANCE
Although he plays in midfield the best striker in the EPL is.....
Stevie G . Rooney is a great striker but he can't score from anywhere on the pitch like Stevie G and he hasn't got the football brain like Stevie, The only place where he has got more is his stomache.
Liverpool will come first in the prem and Man U second, sooner or later Man U's defence will let them down and they will let in more goals than they can score.

I'm a United fan I think due to the team's lack of spending, they will finish up in the top 3 again. I don't understand how you sell your best goal scorer and you pick up some midfielder who is a little better than average. The only good thing to come out of this is that Ole Gunnar will get more playing time and be back on his game. I honestly think Saha will get hurt again and not be able to play in all games.

although i dont understand the question
i will give you my opinion about wayne rooney
wayne rooney is a great striker no doubt of that.and he is also the best in man u
he is in my opinion one of the best playmakers in the world
however: TEMPER
Wayne Rooney needs a "miracle" to be fit for the World Cup or any tournament
because i mean if he cant control his temper ..why do he play?
for losing his temper he got a red card
well in the first match of man u vs fulham
i was really surprised and proud of him because he never lost his temper in that match and he was really nice so i hope he stays like this forever
