1) Canada doesn't want to join the US at least not while the current administration is in power.
2) People in North Dakota and Minnesota will never stop whining. No matter if we changed the rotation and axis of the Earth to give them a better climate. They would say it doesn't rain enough or too much or something.

Whining is a way of life in North Dakota and Minnesota. We know that most of the people in the world have it much worse than us, but we do not care, we still whine. We are no better than everyone else in this great country.

Yes -- but they would still whine about being in North Dakota and Minnesota. And seriously, who can blame them? North Dakota is like a giant expanse of pure, concentrated misery. The Yukon Territory, by comparison, is kind of pretty.

First of all, people in North Dakota and Minnesota are practically Canadian already... just listen to them talk.... secondly if the US were going to annex Canada, I think we should do it by force so they would know who's in control...it wouldn't take much more than a couple of boyscout troups to do it... Third.. Canada Sucks.. except for Niagra Falls.. that's pretty cool

The US has done some horribly stupid things in its couple of hundred years...but never anything quite as stupid as seriously considering allowing hosers to 'join up'.
