The Silent Hill series. Then it's the Project Zero (Fatal Frame in USA) series and Forbidden Siren 2 (far better than the first one)

Hmmm.
1) F.E.A.R.
2) Resident Evil 1, But you have to play the original on the Playstation. NOT the DS version since they give you a free slot for the knife AND the give you quick 180 turn command, AND they include autoaim which ruins the game. Oh And NOT the Director's Cut.
3) Silent Hill 1
