I have been to hundreds of weddings in my life. Most took place in fancy churches with reception halls that had pools and you got served shrimp, caviar and champagne all night....I can honestly tell you that I hardly ever had fun at any of those[unless I got drunk]..The weddings of lower costs were always the best..nothing fancy..either on a beach somewhere,or in someones back yard..those weddings were full of heart and warmth...and sooo much fun! A field would be great..dont think negatively about it raining...but even if it did so what? It'd be a wedding that everyone would remember! There are always ways of dealing with such situations!Good luck!

Get married on the beach, in a field, on a mountain, at city hall, in your place or your parents....endless possibilities. Umbrellas work in the rain and actually rain on a wedding day is considered good luck! Have a party afterward at your place or friends/relatives. Ask that everyone bring a dish including the recipes for the newlyweds. It's not the price of the wedding, it's the value of the love in the relationship.

i would look around at different churches (if you want a church wedding) see if they do combined prices if you hire their hall as well for the reception
also ask as registry office dont know but would imagine htem to cheaper
also instead of wedding presents you could always asks the guests family friends ect if they could help towards the cost of venue reception ect
when i got married my mum made my dress and the bridesmaids dresses i borrowed the veil from someone else
my dad made the cake
we used artificial silk flowers for the boquet and bridesmaids flowers that my mum found on sale in a shop that was closing down
we asked a friend to play the organ/piano for the service
someone we knew did the photography
think about freinds and family about what they are good at and see if any of them would be willing to help out in finances or making/providing anything that you need
a wedding does not need to cost a fortune to be a good day
good luck

Get married in a McDonalds Drive Thru! You would probably get a free meal for the reception because of the amount of attention you would give them, your wedding photographs would be taken care of by the press, and Ronald McDonald can provide all the entertainment you need! What more could a happy couple want!

If you had no money you'd be foolish to even contemplate getting married ... or are you assuming you had enough money for a mortgage and everything else?
You can only get married (at least in the UK) in a place which has been registered for marriages such as a registry office (fairly cheap), church, hotel or even theme parks like Alton Towers. None of them are free!

Does anybody in your family have a beautiful backyard, perhaps with a gazebo and room to fit 30-50 people? If so, do that! It would be simply lovely, elegant, classic, and something to always remember. No matter what your money situation, there is always a solution! Best wishes

What's the rush? Get married next year, save some money if you want alot of people. What's wrong with a simple wedding, if you have no money. All you need is the groom.

I don't know whereabouts in the country you live, but if you are anywhere near York, the registry office is a nice venue. They have a secluded courtyard garden where they do ceremonies and it is more like a hotel type setting than a council registry office. That would be a cheaper option. Find out what your local one is like.

Are you already living together and paying for a place to live then get married in a church. It wont cost that much at all.
Priest charge almost nothing. Donation of 50 to 100 to priest and church would be OK. Oh you need to pay for a marriage lic.
