I'm a member of several Yahoo groups, and right now a sort of panic is spreading because some members claim a virus is spreading. How big is the risk for getting a virus throu yahoo groups og yahoo mail ??

You will only get a virus by opening a URL placed in an answer.

I only did that one time and contracted a harmless virus, deleted.

I will not open any URL on this board.

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

I imagine it's the same as the risks from many other sites, keep your anti virus up to date and keep a firewall turned on.
