Put your courser over the icon and right click. Choose "copy shortcut" and paste it to your desk top.

Right click on The Desktop
go to new --> Shortcut
then click on Browse go to program files--> Outlook Express and select msimn.exe
and similarly do the steps for internet explorer
or else directly go to start menu and right click on the internet explorer/ outlook express and then go to send to --> Desktop

right click on outlook express wherever they are now, select create shortcut. This will make a short cut in the same place it was previous. Then just drag it and drop in on the desktop. This will create a shortcut while still keeping it in it's current location as well.
