Ok i know this should be in the health section, but i thought is would be more appropriate.

Ok, i have very good vision part from im partly sighted in one eye which doesnt really make much differnce.
What I want to know if any one here as has glasses because they sit in front of the pc alot, to help with not getting eyestrain but in normal day activity do not need them.
If this is even posible.
This month and last I have been i front of the pc for 289hrs.
Which i belive is alot as i only get 4 days a month where im not infront of the screen.
So can any one give me advice on this, and weather or not it is a good idea to get glasses to ease the strain.

Thankyou
REDZ

hey redz... just becoz u spend a lot of time in front of the computer screen... i would think it would be a good idea to get a screen filter for your monitor... It blocks all the harmful radiations coming out from the monitor and protects your eyes.. You can find them on ebay.. like this one..

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Computer-monitor-Screen-glass-filter-12-16-in-screen_W0QQitemZ280020292687QQihZ018QQcategoryZ51051QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Another option is that you can get eye glasses that have a little blue tint on em.. they block harmful radiations too.. you can get em at ur optician .. also u can get them with ur prescriptions on them...

hope this helps.. ciao

I can just tell you that yesterday I had such a bad headache and I didn't know what a hell is going on. I drunk 10 black coffees during that day but it didn't help. Only in the evening I figured out that it's probably because of staring at the PC.
So, I cant' give you any smart advice but you're right about that. Screen is not good for eyes.
BUT I AM NOT GONNA STOP STARING AT IT.
bye

Regular PC usage leads to eye strain definitely. Go for glasses after a check up by Ophthalmologist.

i wear mine all the time
yes there are glasses you can wear see optition and tell him/her
a good tip is keep moving you head and eyes away from your screen . also you should have 10 minutes break every hour as i hour working 10 minutes away from your desk moving about
check with your Union for the regs (idon't remember them fully enough)
12 hours a day 6 days a week is to much

I wear glasses for reading and while i am on the computer. Honestly the only person that can answer you is an optician. Go and have an eye test, you might be surprised!

I got glasses in high school (before I had a PC), get your eyes tested - an optometrist will be able to guide you better.
