No. It annoys them, but it doesn't deter them or drive them away.
It does emit a noise that will bother you/your cat/your dog...but it's not going to "drive away" a motivated mouse. Especially not the cheap ones sold at local retail stores.

My grandfather caught a mouse in a live trap, then put it in an empty trash can with the intention of setting it free in the woods later on. When he went to get the mouse, it had gone kind of crazy and chewed off its feet, and my grandpa thinks it was because he had accidently set the trash can next to his sonic mouse device. So, I think they do work. (My grandpa almost cried)

I have found hanging pictures of Kayne West holding hands with Kim Kardashian strategically around the house worked better than the sonic devices.

although i have never seen one used in person, I would think not its just a bunch of crap to get your money. I would not buy one or any of those sonic repellents.

I doubt it. Cat ones don't. My neighbour installed a machine on her wall, intended to scare my cats off her garden (although it was actually sited so that it covered MY garden, not hers!) My cats were not bothered by it at all - they walked right up to it and sniffed it when it was in full blast, then sauntered off, quite unconcerned. It drove my husband mad though. The Environmental Health Officer came round, took it off her wall and told her not to put it back. Our next port of call was going to be to issue proceedings, i.e. sue her. The shriek went not just all over our garden but right through every room in our house.
