Here's what i do, and i normally get them in on the first time.
1. Stand in front of a mirror with your lenses near by
2. Say you are putting in your right contact first, you would take your left side, and move it closer to the mirror, until your left eye can see what you are doing with your right-eye contact. When you are putting in your contact, you can watch what you are doing with you left eye through the mirror. you will already have right eye where it need to be looking, and hold your eye open, and stick the contact in. With your left eye, you can see what you are doing through the mirror, making it easier for me to do myn.

try practicing by touching the white part of your eye with your finger first. Get used to the act and the sensation of touching your eyes. For women it can be easier because we apply eye make up and it requires detailed applications at times.
The more you apply the lenses on your eye the more confident you are with the act.
Maybe you want to try extended wear contacts so you don't have to put the lenses in daily.

Left eye: put contact lens on right forefinger
hold left eyelids open with your left forefinger and thumb
(remember kids in the hall "I'm sqaushing your head?")
use mirror, plop contact onto eye, and blink once it's seated.
Reverse and repeat for right eye. It does take a while to get it to go smoothly, but I can do it now without even looking in the mirror.
Hope that was helpful! Good luck

It took me forever for a while, my secret is to look up while I put it in on the white part of my eye.

Practice is the only way. I used to call my brother's act of putting them in "The Ritual" because it took him 20 minutes. Now it is no problem for him. Because he got Lazik eye surgery.
