to quote my favorite bible verse
John 3:16

"And then the Lord said, "GO SOX."

keeping this in mind should "gay-rod" have won the al mvp last year??

2006-08-24 01:43:24 · update #2

Money + Steriods + "gay-rod" = Yankees

The yankees have more money than god...and have consistently received the overrated and overpaid award...and with some help from the state of pennsylvania (who doesn't know how to trade) the yankees have more "juice" and overrated talent than ever

2006-08-24 01:55:50 · update #3

just because the yankees won so many rings before many of you were born...does that make them the best team??? I mean wouldn't that mean the celtics are the best basketball team because they dominated the 70's???? god i hate yankee fans who like the yankees just because they win a lot...which is most of them...particular teenage yankee fans (not from NY)

2006-08-24 02:23:27 · update #4

You yankee fans are pretty pathetic....spineless...only supporting the team because they win so much....the post about yankees winning more since 1996 shows that

and MVP means most valuable player....a rod isn't as valuable to the yankees as ortiz is to the sox...take ortiz off the sox and gayrod off the yanks...see who does better??

you guys and whoever decides the vote for the mvp are messed up

if red sox fans are crybabies....nyy fans are fans of the previous team that won it all...and will be fans of the next team that wins it all

2006-08-24 02:48:47 · update #5

for the record....how many times has ortiz been caught with steroids???

I AM a Sox fan, and if Papi doesn't win the MVP, then it NEEDS to go to Liriano in Minnesota. Kid is just filthy. He is the next big thing on the mound.

Should Ortiz win if the Sox don't make the playoffs? No. The Sox are on the outside looking in and as long as they are out of the playoff picture Ortiz should not be mentioned as the MVP. Besides the Red Sox collapse has coincided with the injury to Varitek. Ortiz is not even the most valuable player on his own team. Without Manny hitting behind him Ortiz would not have won nearly as many games this year because people would pitch around him. Big Papi is a great player but lets back off just a little bit.

Besides who has even said that Alex Rodriguez should win the MVP this year, because that person is a crack head.

The Yanks have won more rings than the Red Sox since 1996. I am sure most people on here are at least 10. Who really thinks ARod should be MVP? I am a Yanks fan and think the voting should come down to Ortiz or Jeter....probably with Jeter winning it because the Yanks will win the division. Similar to Arod last year.
Red Sox fans are such cry babies!!

You said"just because the yankees won so many rings before many of you were born...does that make them the best team???"
I was just proving you wrong!! Not that that is difficult to do with you bums.

One ring in 80something years, or 4 in the last 10 with a total of 6 appearances, whats your point?

There is no doubt in my mind that Gay-rod is nothing but an overrated and spoiled little brat.

Sure his first few seasons were good, but defensively he's not nearly as good as the majority of 3rd basemen in the league, let alone shortstops.

Of course her's gonna drive in a bunch of runs. If you got good guys at the top of the order who are gonna get on base a lot, then it obvious you;re gonna drive in a bunch of runs.

Texas was stupid for giving him such a big contract, and of course the only team that could end up paying for it was the Yankees.

Gay rod won't get a contract nearly that big once the current one is over. He's the most overrated player in baseball. The MVP for any league should be a player that without him, his team wouldn't have gotten where they got to. This is not Gay rod.

Oh yeah, papi Ortiz is better, but he should be on the defensive line of some NFL team, because he can't do much else than hit the baseball.

I hate to say this as a Yankee fan but David Ortiz should win the AL MVP.

I hate to bust your bubble but God is really a die-hard Yankee because he wants perfection.

If you are a Red Sucks fan I hope you enjoyed the second "Boston Massacre" which occurred parts of last week and a little of this week because I and many other proud Yankees fans sure did.

Look you typical Dead Sox fan, no one this year has said he should win this years MVP. It will not be Ortiz either. I see at least two others with a better chance. One is Derek Jeter. I watch too many Sox games to know Ortiz will not win.

Not a Sox fan, not a Yankees fan.

I am a massive yankees fan but,

none of the yank fans besides jeter have a chance because none of them are having a great year
jeter should only win it if red sox do not make the playoffs

#1) Who's suggested A-Rod for MVP this year? Or are you still living in last year when he beat your boy Ortiz?

#2) Ortiz's trainer got caught smuggling steroids across the US-Canada border a couple of years ago. So don't talk about juice. Ortiz is the most juiced up player this side of Barry Bonds.

Im a Yankee fan and A-Rod is "not even close" to winning MVP. Jeter would be the only one would a chance this year.

Nobody with a brain thinks A-Rod should win AL MVP.
