It is not up to us to simply forgive, but rather up to Zidane to ask for forgiveness and prove he is worthy of forgiveness. Zidane has a history of dirty play such as the headbutting at the World Cup, and needs to prove he can play just as great as he has, but without the dirty plays that get him into trouble.

I was always for him! As he's a great player and nothing can be said against this fact! People say, he must have kept his emotions; but, good heavens, imagine yourself in his place: the final match, the whole country wants you to get the victory, other players make you responsible for the game waiting for brilliant combinations, and at the same time some importunate Italian man is shouting insulting words about your family into your ears! He's not a God, he's an ordinary man with his own feelings!

it's true!
zidane zidane.....who is zidane? Maradona? no! Pele? no
is only a good player with 14 red cards............
l'm italian and I have watched both players (Maradona in Naples team an ZZ in juventus Torino) and I'm sure that Maradona was the best player that I ever seen in my life!
I think that some french "supporters" they won't understand this because french was never "lived" this like italians have seen.

Zidane should be forgiven right after the moment he apologized for his headbutts towards Materazzi in a TV show in France.I believe that he was very sincere when he apologized.

I forgive him. Maybe him and Rooney can come to America and star in the WWF! They have the cool names already, the passion to play dirty, and most soccer players understand "acting" to some degree.

Forgive him for what? For showing us that even to the best player there are some things that are more important than sports (soccer)? I think we should thank him, for the only thing I can remember about the finals is his headbutt. Zizou was great!
