Give it back of course! Anyone who takes something that doesn't belong to them is a thief! You see the money drop & you don't give it back??? Do the right thing. For those of you that remarked on finding a large sum of money in the street or wherever, turn it in to the police dept. If nobody claims it within a certain period of time, you'll get to keep it. This would be the right way to reap the reward of a find.

I found a dollar at work once and bought a Mt Dew with it. I have found money at a gas station parking lot before and kept it. So, based on that, I guess I would keep it.
Now, if I saw the money drop out of someones pocket, I would tell them and give it back to them.

This is such a tricky question, you know I think if that person was still there, I'd give it back to them for sure! But if I found a whole lot of Money just laying on the street and the owner wasn't thier to claim it, I may keep it?

If it is over a $100 take it. Why not? Money is what makes the world go around. So why not start the cycle. lol Its not like its stolen just lost and then found which makes it then mine. Possession is 9/10 of the law.

I've probably done it several times, but I most remember one time while visiting a friend in the Bronx. A woman just ahead of me dropped a dollar bill and I picked it up and caught up with her and handed it back to her. She was leery even to speak to me, of course, and said thank you, and was probably flabbergasted that someone would do that in the city. I like to think that I did my tiny part to make a stranger's day a little better in a suspicious world.
But in all honesty, if there's no one around and I know there's no way to find the one who lost it, it's mine, no questions asked.

If possible, return it. If not possible, give it away. To a homeless person or the collection plate. I think money that comes into your hands without being earned should be used to better someone else. Spending found money on yourself isn't right.

Would you expect someone to pick up your purse and walk away? Won't you equate him/her with a thief? Right is always right and wrong is always wrong. We can prove things otherwise by logic but facts can never be changed. So the right thing to do is to give it back to the owner and earn his/her goodwill and appreciation which cannot be compared with money!

Let's see... Maybe I'd give it back... for all I know, he may need it more than I do... But if nobody's watching and nobody wants it, it goes to my bank...or someone else.
