Ok here is the story.
Lita first starting dating Matt Hardy a while back. While Matt was out with an injury, Lita and Edge (Amy Dumas and Adam Copeland) starting having an affair (Amy cheating on Matt and Adam cheating on his wife). After Matt found out he subsequently dumped Amy and Adam's wife left him. The two started dating for a brief period in mid/late 2005 ending the relationship about a month prior to Edge winning the WWE Title for the first time. Since then, the two are no longer a couple off screen and Adam has gotten back together with his wife.

No they had a brief relationship whick broke up Lita and Matt's real life long relationship. Edge is back with his wife. Matt has a new girlfriend but is still friendly with Lita. Although on his site he says he doesn't communicate with Lita for now since it is just easier this way. From what I heard his girlfriend Ashley had a problem with matt and Lita's friendship. Lita is now single.

They did have an affair in real life, Lita cheated on Matt and Edge cheated on his wife. They are not together now and as far as I no, Edge is back with his wife

No, they were never actually "together". Amy Dumars(Lita) had a relationship with Matt Hardy(Matt Hardy). Then Amy had an affair with Adam Copeland (Edge) which led to Matt Hardy braking up with her. So to make a good storyline Stepanie Levesque and her writing crew decided to make an on-screen rivalry between Edge And Matt Hardy because they didnt like each other off screen. But meanwhile Adam Copeland wass married all that time but him and his wife worked things out now Edge and Lita are just an on-screen power couple.

No. Lita was having an affair with a man named Robert Shalle, who was one of WWE's employees. Edge heard about this, and he broke up with her. Matt Hardy then heard about it, and cheated by having sex with Jeff. Then, Mickie James started to suck on JBL's penis, and they got married. Now, Triple H is with Trish Stratus in real life, and Kane and Undertaker just had their 6th daughter.

all the wwe couples gets me confused especially when litas involved i mean first shes with matt then jeff then matt again then shes in a fake relationship with kane but shes still with matt and then she cheats on matt and kane with edge. so i really try not to think about it

First off, Lita and Matt really went out. He was about to propose, until he found out she cheated on him with his friend and Edge. He broke up with her and went to SmackDown! so he wouldn't have to see them, obviously. So, yeah, they're going out.
