In order for God to create Everything, he would have to start from a position separate from Everything….wouldn’t that make him nothing?

I mean here you have this big empty distinct lack of anything, called God. And he says let there be light or whatever…then he proceeds to make planets and ants and nebulae and catfish and amoebas and lilacs and suns and mountains, etc.

So where once you had nothing (i.e. God), now you have this whole big wondrous amazing Everything.

How could God create something more wondrous and complicated than himself—something bigger and better than what was there before? If God created something ‘better’ than himself, wouldn’t his creation then become God leaving him behind to sulk?

So it makes more sense that God did not create everything, but that God IS Everything…God is the only thing that is…..and we are all a part of God.

Be your own God….create your own world exactly as you want it. That’s why we’re here. But remember we're all in this together.

My only version is that all the souls of the previous worlds came together to create God.

Nobody would face God to ask this question.
His Messengers, the Greatest Minds on this world such as Krishna, Zoroaster, Moses...had bowed down with absolute humbleness before the One True God, the I AM THAT I AM.
You wasted your intelligence to ask human beings about this matter. You accept or you deny God, you try best to make yourself as emperor of the world, you would never be able to gain a wisdom equalling to a mustard seed before Krishna's wisdom.
Please rethink.

Well, that's a question you're going to have to ask Him. Don't know that He spends much time on Yahoo answers, though.
