My client rang me at 9am today saying she had received the same e-mail I sent at 17.32 yesterday, 27 more times since midnight. I had shutdown my computer about 10pm and not opened it before she rang. I had copied this e-mail to someone else, and when I checked he has not been repeatedly bombarded overnight. Is it my computer/my yahoo/client's computer? Don't know where to start or what to do about it, but it's driving her mad naturally. Thank you for any help you can give. Mary Ann

You may have a virus that's sending this e-mail. Run a virus check

The problem is not with your computer (that why the other person is not getting multiple copies). When you sent an e-mail it goes up to your server, is sent by the server to the client's server, and then the client's server sents it to thier PC. Since your PC is off, it has to be the client's server that is repeatedly resending the message. Have the client contact whoever her email provider is for assistance.

1) It is NOT a virus.

2) The problem is at your client's end NOT at your end.

I had that same thing with Outlook Express but it was me who was being bombarded...when I rang my ISP they told me it was a quirk or gliche in the system which is somtimes caused by someone (not the muliple email sender) who had sent me a very large file which had caused this quirk. What the connection is between that & receiving multiple same emails, is anybody's guess.
I had to delete my outlook express account & add it back again. The problem was cured.
Is the person who is being bombarded using oulook express?...If so they should do as I did..ask them to contact their ISP.

You will need to delete the message from the server.

Are you using an email programme, like Outlook?

You are probably going to have to manually delete the message from the server. I can't remember exactly how to do it. but it involves Telnet. Logging onto the pop3 server and deleting the message!

Try a search.

do you have any kind of auto response set up on your email? when you go on holiday for example people sometimes set up an email to automatically respond to any mails they get sent with a message telling them you are away.

You spammer. Seems like you have a trojan virus running, or it might be a gliche in the email sending system.
