No he isn't. Jam Master Jay was shot a few years ago i am afraid to say but Darryl is alive and kicking as far as i am aware. He probably has run away after seeing Run in a Liberty X video i expect.

Run DMC members were Jason "Jam Master Jay" Mizell who was shot in 2002 Joseph "Run" Simmons and Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels are still alive

D.M.C. from the rap group Run-D.M.C. is not dead, he is alive and well. Jam Master Jay, their long time D.J. was slain in a Queens N.Y. recording studio on October 30, 2002. His death has not been resolved. D.M.C. released a solo project on March 16, 2006 titled "Checks Thugs and Rock N Roll".
