Batista won Booker T but he lost the championship although he was about 2 pin him,all due to this f*cking rule.
Lashley won Finaly and lost the championship, and he was about 2 win by a pin fall after 1 second.
If this was a good rule, then anyone who wants 2 defend his championship better enter the ring with a chair in his hand, and hit his oppenent 2 lose the match but defend his title!!This is all a f*cking story!!

its a device created to keep the feud running.

It has its origins back in the days when the NWA would appoint a champion who would travel around all the different territories fighting the top guy from each place to draw extra money for that card (the NWA champion was a legit star of the ric flair/arn anderson ilk)

Now the NWA champ couldnt drop the title (the committee were the only people who could instigate title changes) and if the territories top babyface lost then it would reduce their drawing power once the NWA champ had moved to a different territory.

So the DQ finish was invented. The baby face would get hit with the chair/low blow etc, he bell would win and the faces' hand risen by the referee. The crowd would go mental thinking their local boy had won the NWA title and an announcment would come over the PA stating that the title couldnt change hands on a DQ.

This allowed the Champ to move on to the next place title intact and gave the local guy extra fan backing until the champ came back again later in the year.

WWE hae kept this rule in place, it helps link a feud over two pay per views (you really think Batista wnt get a rematch after the push they have been giving him) Eventually they will write in a no dq stipulation or have a gimmick match (ladder/cage etc) for the two of them so they get a definate winner and they can move to another feud.

First of all.... I answered this question about why Wrestling isnt exactly 'fake'
http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aiy38viJZcYfqEPQZcrPLR4gBgx.?qid=20060822090134AAzHWG7

Going back to the question... it is a scam that the loser gets to keep the title despite being disqualified... However, it makes a good story line particularly to the heels.

Many Wrestlers have done this in the past... Mr. Perfect, Shawn Micheals, and many more!! It makes you want to hate them EVEN more... and becomes more exciting when they finally lose the title to a good guy!!!

All the best!!

I thought Summerslam was a complete disgrace to be honest. Sat up all through the night to watch it, only to see 2 of the title matches be decided by way of cheating.

What a way to cheat the fans, it was almost as if the writers couldn't be botthered to finish off the plan so just thought 'sod it, we'll end the match here'.

The only good match was Ric Flair and Mick Foley!!!!

yeah its stupid, you shouldn't be able to protect your championship by getting DQ'd, anyone could just smack ya over the head with a chair and keep their title, wether they deserve it or not. They should change the rules.

by the way, Heathen, If you don't consider wrestling a sport you should step in the ring with a profession wrestler, then see if you still don't consider it a sport after you've been snapped in half.

yeah, i agree, ive seen one too many matches where the challenger has been screwed out of a title because of a DQ.
2 heathen: misinformed or naive, whatever you are, wrestling is a sport. it requires a high degree of fitness and athleticism. u obviously haven't seen shelton benjamin or kurt angle wrestle. also, u wouldn't last 2 min in the ring before you went crying to ur momma.

I totaly agree with you they should get rid of the DQ rule other wise it's not fair to the wrestler who won but didn't get the title

How old are you !?!?!?!?

Some people must have absolutely nothing else to worry about in their lives if they can even consider a bunch of steroids induced brain dead idiots rolling about on a mat a form of noteworthy discussion.
