A slower beat in your music does relax you & generally you will chew slower. The music itself doesn't help you digest anything, it's your response to it. Restaurants will play more upbeat music during busy times to speed up the turnover, ie people eat faster & leave faster. Music taps into your subconscious & does tend to have an effect on your actions, so it stands to reason that it could help you digest better as you're more likely to chew properly and pause between bites, all aiding in the eventual digestion. I don't think that applies specifically to classical music though.

If it actually relaxes you ... sure ... but if it grates on your nerves and you don't like it ... nope. Anything that relaxes you after eating, and calms you will help with the digestive process .. there isn't a JUST ONE thing that will work ... if you can't relax to anything ... you might wanna seek medical help

Some say it does. If there is going to be music playing at dinner, I don't care what it is as long as it isn't playing so loud that you can't have a conversation and be heard.
