Is this just a urban myth? Someone once told me the actor who plays Quincy in the 70's TV show actually began to believe he was Quincy.

The only disease I've heard in connection with Jack Klugman, mental or physical, is when he had throat cancer. I can't imagine that he would have imagined himself to be Quincy--after all, I've never heard of him imagining himself to be Oscar Madison of the Odd Couple, and he was better known for that. He also did work on Broadway long after Quincy's run was over.

no, this is an urban myth...Jack Klugman went on to do more projects after that but was sidelined after throat surgery (cancer).
