A Nostradamas joke, maybe from his time--
The king asked the Nostradamos which chicken should he eat, the white one or the brown one. Nostrodamas recommended the brown one for sure.

Upon this advice, he ordered the cook to prepare the white one for dinner.
When the kings meal arrived, he asked the cook if he had followed his instructions. The cook replied "Pleases forgive me sire, but a fox was seen running away with the white one before we could catch it".

I like wizzards answer.Hence-- Free will is the choice of where to go destiny is where you chose.

Well, they're at completely different ends of the spectrum for one thing. Supposedly, one of them means you have total control over your life and everything you do, the other means you are destined to partake in certain life events, for one reason or another. The difference? Well, with free will, you supposedly choose your own life course, and destiny will happen regardless of what you choose.

But really, how do you know that you are participating in free will, or the acts of the fates? You can't know, unless you know your future and purposely chose another route to follow, resulting in an alternative future. Otherwise, your "free will" and choices you are making could be steering you straight towards the inevitable fate that is in store for you, and thus, it is not really free will at all, but destiny. So really, you believe what you believe, but they are one and the same, unless you can predict the future. One gives you the power to change the course of your life, the other doesn't, but ONLY if you know what is going to happen.

Free-will is your choice, its up to you, wholey and completely without any outside influence. And destiny, if you believe in it, is fate. Its the path you cannot change, its whatz been planned out for you, in the big cosmic plan.
