the best place to get a tattoo to start with to be honest is anywhere u want it, there is no best place for 1 but it really all depends on what ur design for the tattoo. the best thing to do is to get ur design u want and ask ur tattooist where the best place to put it will be.
but id say id put it on ur back somewhere or on ur hip.
its all about what u want where do u want it, u just have to make sure that its something u really want

I had a small one done about 10 years ago which is really high at the top of my leg - almost near my knicker line. The only time it gets seen is with someone that I am in bed with, or if I am on the beach in a high cut bikini.
I toyed with shoulder, but if you want to go to a glam party with a backless or strapless dress etc, it can look a bit tacky and ruin the whole look of elegance.
It doesnt really hurt at all and I have never regretted getting it done.
You must be sure though, cos like everyone says, once its there, its there - even when ur 90!! (If you are lucky enough to live that long!!)

I'm not really sure there is a best place - possibly somewhere you can cover it up easily. I think the most important thing is to choose a design you know you are going to like for the rest of your life. For the record I had my first one on my lower back because it wasn't very common at the time, but now everyone's getting them done - swines!

If you work in a very professional job put it where it can be covered.
But beware inner thigh, inner arm & back are the most sensitive places to put it!
Plus it takes time to heal.
It will feel kinda like bad carpet burn for about a week straight after you get it.
So don't put it on an area you like to sleep on or you will wake up stuck to your bed!

Somewhere only you and selected people can see it, (your hip, back, thigh, tummy, shoulder) until your used to it. If you put it somewhere for all to see then you will get questions and if you don't like it you will feel really self conscious. The thing with tattos is that once you get one you usually want another....Make sure you think long and hard and go to somebody with a good clean established career and studio. If your not sure then DON'T.

it depends on your pain fresh hold my first tat was on my shoulder blade which is a fleshy area and a good place to start as it don't hurt so much as other places can. ive heard the lower back/base of spine area can be painful as you have to think there is so many nerve ending in that area. where ever you have it make sure you love it because remember you have to live with it for a looooooong time xx

i once saw this woman with tattoo of a leopard stretch across the back of her neck, it was definitely a head-turner! very cool.
ive seen quite a few people tattooing like a ring across the finger. imagine how painful. but then you wont have to buy rings again!
i think the coolest and bravest are those who tattoo on the face.

Where ever you want it, there is no best place it's your own choice. I got mine done on the lower back about 3 years ago.

i would say on your back because if you dont really like it at least you wont have to look at it and it can be covered up. Before i got mine done (i have 2 ,on my lower back+shoulder blade), i thought about the pictures on my wedding day (bit silly i no) but the 1 on my shoulder blade would be the only one visible and its tiny. good luck !

For a woman, the lower back is the most appealing to me. In my opinion a woman's chest should, in no way shape or form, be tampered with.
